Balkan Tour (Kosovo) Serbia - Albania - Bulgaria

DAY 01
BELGRADE

Arrival and airport transfer with Belgrade City Tour (panoramic + by walk) + lunch at Kalemegdan Terrace Restaurant, located on Belgrade Fortress, with excellent view to Danube River. Tour begins with panoramic sightseeing and visit to main sites and squares of Belgrade, Belgrade City Hall, Serbian Parliament, the main pedestrian zone of Knez Mihailova Street, Belgrade University, National Theatre, National Museum, the oldest restaurant in Belgrade named "?", Orthodox Cathedral church. Tour continues to Kalemegdan Park and Belgrade Fortress with magnificent view on confluence of Sava to Danube River and Zemun Town, and much more. Check in at the hotel. Overnight.

DAY 02
BELGRADE - NOVI SAD - SREMSKI KARLOVCI - BELGRADE

Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast, an hour and a half drive to Novi Sad. Upon arrival to Novi Sad a 45 minute Novi Sad Sightseeing Tour is in order. Tour will include visiting the Danube park, the Danube street (the oldest street of the city), building of the Patriarchate, one of the oldest cultural institutions, Matica srpska, Zmaj Jova street, the Freedom square. After the sightseeing of Novi Sad, the road takes us to Sremski Karlovci, one of the places that are considered to be historically important for the development of the modern Serbia state. The visit to this picturesque town will include seeing the first Gymnasium in Serbia, Patriarchate building, one of the oldest pharmacies in Serbia, one of the most expensive hotels in the region, as well as the "Chapel of peace'' (a place where the round table was used for the first time in the history of world diplomacy). After this we continue towards Belgrade. A stop for lunch is planned on the way at a place called "Salash Farmhouse'', an example of a typical northern Serbian ethnic home. After lunch we will have the chance to visit the vineyard and, one of the more famous ones in this part of the country, widely famous for it's great wines. In the evening, we arrive back to Belgrade. Overnight.

DAY 03
BELGRADE - MEĆAVNIK (DRVENGRAD)

Breakfast at hotel. In the early morning hours, after breakfast at the hotel, we check out and depart for the western part of Serbia, world famous for its natural beauties and wealth of gastronomic tradition. The road leads through beautifull Ovchar-Cablar gorge where we will visit one of 15 old and hidden monasteries from 14th century. Next stop is Terzica Avlije, which is authentic open air museum of houses and way of living in 19th century where you will meet part of Serbian tradition and culture. After Terzica Avlije we will see Potpecka cave which has the biggest cave entrance in Europe. Lunch in restaurant next to the cave. Follows visit the town of Mećavnik, also known as Drvengrad, built by world famous Serbian film director Emir Kusturica who won multiple awards. This unique fairy tale place is consisted of traditional wooden houses from different parts of western Serbia. Check-in in 4* wooden hut apartment in Mecavnik and free time. In the evening we will go to national restaurant for dinner, a true feast and a gastronomic experience not to be missed when in this part of the country. Overnight.

DAY 04
MECAVNIK - ZLATIBOR - KOPAONIK

Breakfast at the hotel and an check-out. First activity is very interesting, we will have a ride with Shargan Eight rustic tourist train. It is a railroad shaped like a number 8 made in the XIX century. Taking a ride on this world famous railway will help us enjoy the beautiful nature of this mountainous region in a unique way. Next is unique Stopica cave which is composed of 5 units: the Light hall, the Dark hall, the Big hall with tubs, the Canal and the River canal. It is characterisic because of it's limestone pools/tubs that can be seen in one more cave in the world, but not amazing like this. Also, at the end of the cave you have waterfall which gives a special note to this amazing place. Follows visit to Gostilje waterfalls one of the most attractive hydrologic values of Zlatibor, the place where according to the legend fairies are taking a bath. Stunning waterfall and peaceful and colorful surrounding will possess your senses. Departure to Kopaonik mountain, evening arrival. Dinner and overnight in 4* hotel. Overnight.

DAY 05
KOPAONIK - DEVIL TOWN (DJAVOLJA VAROS) - KOPAONIK

Breakfast at hotel. Kopaonik is the most popular mountain in the region with excellent ski oportunuties in the winter time and amazing nature in spring and summer. It is the biggest mountain range in Serbia extends from the northwest to the southeast for 80 km. It is one of national parks in Serbia, protected by law, 1st category nature. Kopaonik mountain is especially beautiful for its distinctive landscape of dense coniferous forests (spruce and fir) at higher elevations and mixed beech and oak forests on its slopes, pastures and meadows and prominent peaks from which views extend to the Šar Mountains and the Komovi and Stara Planina mountains. After breakfast we will visit Devils Town, unique place in the world, it is geomorphologic phenomenon in the south Serbia, on the slopes of the Radan Mountain. The locale is comprised of 202 earthen figures formed by erosion and springs with strongly acidic and mineralized water. The earthen figures between 2 and 15 meters tall and 0.5 to 3 meters wide, with the stone caps on tops are the result of erosive processes that lasted the centuries. Lunch in restaurant. Departure back to Kopaonik. Free time to explore and enjoy the mountain. Overnight.

DAY 06
KOPAONIK - KOSOVO

Breakfast with hotel check out. We depart to Pec in Kosovo, southern province of Serbia. Pec is administrative centre of western part of Kosovo region. Visit to Serbian orthodox monastery Patriarchate of Pec from 14th century, the complex of churches on the spiritual seat an mausoleum of the Serbian archbishops and patriarchs. It is protected by UNESCO and listed in UNESCO World Heritage List. Follows visit to another monastery from UNESCO World Heritage List, also from 14th century, Decani Monastery. It was built for the Serbian king Stefan Decanski and is also his mausoleum. Photo session stop at National Library, Sandenberg square and Big Mosque. We continue to Pristina where we will have overnight in 4* hotel. Overnight.

DAY 07
KOSOVO - PRIZREN - ALBANIA

Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast we depart to Tirana in Albania across Prizren which is a historic city in the southern part of Kosovo region. We will have a city tour with visit to Prizren League House. We continue to Tirana where we will have Tirana city tour and accommodate in 4* hotel. Free time. Overnight.

DAY 08
ALBANIA - DURRES - TIRANA

Breakfast. First stop on todays tour is Durres, second biggest city in Albania and one of the most significant cities of Albania. We continue our tour to Berat where we will have city tour. We visit Berat castle which is a fortress overlooking the town of Berat, Albania. It dates mainly from 13th century nd contains many Byzantine churches in the area and Ottoman mosques. Visit to Onufri natonal museum located in inner part of Saint Mary Church in Berat castle. Free time at Mangalemi neighbourhood and view of Berati churches. Follows visit to Apolonia archeological park where we will visit ancient Illyrian city. Trip back to Tirana. Overnight.

DAY 09
TIRANA - MACEDONIA - OHRID

After breakfast we depart to Ohrid lake in Macedonia republic. Sightseeing of beautifull Ohrid and visit to Saint Naum monastery on the lake. Tour continues to other important sights in the city: St Sophia catedral, Water museum, Sain Jovan Kaneo church situated on the cliff overlooking lake Ohrid, Samuel Fortress and Saint Pantelejmon church. Accommodation in 4* hotel. Overnight.

DAY 10
OHRID - MAVROVO - SKOPJE

Breakfast. We visit Mavrovo national park which is the biggest of three national parks in republic of Macedonia. Follows visit to amazing Matka Canyon where we will ewnjoy the nature and have lunch. On the way we will go through Tetovo city. Next destination is Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. Overnight in 4* hotel.

DAY 11
SKOPJE - BULGARIA - SOFIA

After breakfast we will have city tour in Skopje, the capital od Macedonia. We will visit Skopje fortress a.k.a Kale fortress, historical place settled in the old town of Skopje. It is situated on the highest point in the city overlooking Vardar river. Follows visit to Saint Spas church, main square with Alexader the Great statue and Skopje Castle. After the tour we depart to Sofia, capital city of Bulgaria republic. City tour in Sofia with visit to St Alexandar Nevsky Cathedral, we will also see National History museum, Serdica Roman fortress walls, St Sophia Basilica, National theatre. Overnight in 4* hotel.

DAY 12
SOFIA - SERBIA - NIS - BELGRADE

After breakfast we depart to Nis in southern part of Serbia where we will have short sightseeing tour of city center and Nis fortress. Follows visit to magnificent fortified Manasija monastery from 15th century, with priceles fresco paintings. Manasija is fortified with 12 towers, located in the forest, during the history it eas art and cultural center of this part of Europe with famous school for rewriting boks on diferent languages. It is endowment of Despot Stefan, who was part of Red Dragon knight order, the most famous knight order in medievil Europe. He was well known as great leader, warrior, poet and fun of art and culture in Europe circles. Next stop is Belgrade, capital of Serbia. Overnight in 4* hotel.

DAY 13
BELGRADE

After breakfast we will visit museum of Nikola Tesla, the greatest Serbian scientist but also the greatest that world has ever seen. In his museum you will aee his remainings(ashes), his personal belongings, documentary about his great life and work and ideas for the future world. The most exciting part is the one where you will have a chance to participate in some of his experiments with electricity. Follows visit House of Flowers, museum where Tito, former president of Yugoslavia is baried. Tito was world famous hot shot in the world of politics. His funeral was the biggest officials funeral in the world. Than we will visit Ada Medjica island, hidden gem in the city where we will organize lunch. After lunch we will continue our tour in Zemun, which is totaly different from other parts of Belgrade, where we will visit Millenium tower with great view to Danube and the old city. Overnight.

DAY 14
BELGRADE

After breakfast we depart to airport. End of the program.
